25 Sep Lafourche DA’s Office Hosting Annual Event For Senior Citizens
District Attorney Kristine Russell is pleased to announce her office is once again hosting Senior Sources, two events dedicated to providing valuable resources, education, and support to the senior citizens of Lafourche Parish. These free events will be held at:
- Larose Civic Center | October 8, 2024 | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Warren J. Harang Municipal Auditorium | October 15, 2024 | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
The Senior Sources events aim to empower seniors and their families by bringing together local organizations, healthcare providers, legal experts, and community leaders. Attendees will receive guidance on important topics such as property exemptions, fraud prevention, juror exemptions, recognizing signs of senior abuse, and parish programs specifically designed for seniors.
“Last year we served around 500 senior attendees in our parish, and are hoping more will attend this year as the word is spreading about this service,” said D.A. Russell. “Our senior citizens are vital members of our community and this event is a reflection of our commitment to ensuring they have the support, information, and resources they need to live safely and independently.”
In addition to informative sessions, attendees will enjoy complimentary gumbo and potato salad donated by Bless Your Heart, the Lorio Foundation, and Sheriff Craig Webre, as well as receive commodities and have the opportunity to connect with peers and engage in meaningful discussions about the issues that matter most to them.
