30 Nov DA Opening New South Lafourche Office Location On December 5th
Lafourche Parish District Attorney Kristine Russell announced her Office will be opening a new south Lafourche office at 131 East 91st Street in Cut Off on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023. The new, temporary office is located behind the Greater Lafourche Port Commission main office.
“In the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, our original south Lafourche office was damaged beyond use, but it was important that we continue to be available for folks needing to meet with us without them having to drive to the north end of the parish to do so,” said DA Russell “In true bayou community fashion, Golden Meadow Mayor Joey Bouziga and his administration opened their doors to us by providing a temporary meeting location at the Golden Meadow Town Hall, and we have been using that location for the past two years.”
Lafourche parish is 97 miles long with the parish seat of government being on its northern most end. This can create a transportation issue for those needing to meet with staff.
Russell continued, “I cannot thank Mayor Bouziga and the town of Golden Meadow enough for their hospitality over the last two years. We are excited about our new location in Cut Off, and will be keeping our same Tuesday and Thursday schedule to meet with the public.”
Lafourche Parish Child Support staff will be available to meet with Lafourche residents on Tuesdays from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, and all other matters with the Lafourche Parish District Attorney’s Office can be handled on Thursdays from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
Starting on December 5th, the south Lafourche’s office number will be 985-632-5568. The main office number for the Lafourche Parish District Attorney’s Office is 985-447-2003. An on-duty Assistant District Attorney is available for phone calls or drop-ins during regular business hours at our main office located in Thibodaux.
