Children’s Advocacy Center of Lafourche Receives $25,000 Donation

Lafourche Parish District Attorney Kristine Russell announced the Children’s Advocacy Center of Lafourche (CAC) received a $25,000 donation from the Peltier Foundation, a Thibodaux based non-profit organization.

The Peltier Foundation was founded in 1998 by Richard Peltier. Their mission is to nurture and fortify the very fabric of our community – education, religion and civic organizations.

“In general, we want to help our community,” said Stephen Peltier, President of the Peltier Foundation. “This donation was a recognition that this area [of public service] needs attention.”

Since its inception in 2005, the CAC has conducted over 3,000 forensic interviews with children; all of them being conducted by in-house Forensic Interviewer Shannan Gros.

“We cannot thank the Peltier Foundation enough for their very generous donation,” said District Attorney Kristine Russell, President of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Lafourche. “Partners like the Peltier Foundation allow the CAC to continue to provide invaluable services to Lafourche area children.”
