Thibodaux Man Pleads Guilty to Sexual Battery; Sentenced to 25 Years

Lafourche Parish District Attorney Kristine Russell announced that a Thibodaux man pled guilty

to two (2) counts of Sexual Battery earlier today, September 6th, 2019.

 

As part of the negotiated plea, he was sentenced to 25 years per count with the Department of

Corrections to be served concurrent without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of

sentence. He will also have to register as a sex offender.

 

Kenny Prejeant, 57, was arrested in August of 2018 after an investigation into sexual misconduct

allegations were conducted by the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office. The investigation revealed

that Prejeant had two juvenile victim’s perform a sexual act on him.

 

“We feel justice has been served,” said Assistant District Attorney Jason Chatagnier, who

prosecuted the case. “I applaud the victims for coming forward and sharing their story. We hope

it encourages other victims of sexual abuse to speak up, and bring their abusers to justice.”

 

Kenny Prejeant will begin serving his two concurrent 25 year sentences immediately.
